At our homestead, we offer our guests a unique opportunity, regardless of their age or taste, to connect with the culture of our wonderful land through a gastronomic experience. Traditions passed down from generation to generation allow us to reveal the treasures of culinary heritage, which are an inseparable part of Žemaitija's identity.

The homestead hostess’s welcome and authentic traditions.

The homestead hostess, dressed in traditional attire, greets guests with a Samogitian song and naturally fermented kvass.

We are proud to say that we are the only ones to have authentic and personalized clay dishes, which add a special flavor and aesthetic to the dishes prepared using ancient recipes. Each snack or dish is served with wooden spoons, allowing guests to experience the naturalness and traditions. The attention to these details not only emphasizes our commitment to preserving and nurturing culinary heritage but also creates a unique atmosphere where tradition blends with new experiences.

A tasting of Samogitian dishes with a program

During the tasting, you will try all the traditional Samogitian dishes – kastinys (a creamy cheese spread), cibulynė (onion soup), šmakalas (pork dish), vėdarai (stuffed sausages), žemaitiški virtiniai (Samogitian dumplings), or other dishes made according to your preferences and choices.

If guests wish, we offer the opportunity not only to taste but also to observe the making of kastinys, the pride of Žemaitija, thus reinforcing our cultural traditions.

During the tasting, you will also hear interesting stories and legends about the Plateliai region, Lake Plateliai, and its islands. We will introduce you to the history of the homestead’s founding, and there will also be traditional Samogitian riddles and readings, where many will compete for the hostess’s prizes.

If arranged in advance, the tasting can conclude with an evening performance by the folk ensemble "Platelee," which leaves no one indifferent.

The time and duration of the tasting with the program are arranged in advance. Throughout the program, the Samogitian language will be spoken, so guests will leave having learned another foreign language.
